Lip filler
You deserve a fuller, sexier pout
Over the years men and women have used all kinds of injectables, massages, devices and plumping products to achieve lip volume. There are ways of permanently increasing the size of your lips, but we believe that temporary fillers are a better option – after all, permanently plump lips could look strange ten years later when the dynamics of your face has changed again through natural ageing!
One of our most popular treatments for lips is injectable fillers (also known as dermal fillers). The longevity of your lip fillers will depend on the product selected and factors unique to the individual. The procedure itself takes 30 minutes and can be carried out with numbing cream to reduce any discomfort.
Benefits
What Lip Fillers can do for you
Enhance lip volume – There are several techniques for these treatments and Australian Skin Clinics can tailor the treatment to suit your desired outcome.
How it works
Lip filler (dermal filler) is a naturally occurring substance.
Our expert doctors and registered nurses inject the aesthetic gel based treatment into the lips, to give you a natural looking result.
The aesthetic gel-based filler is based on a naturally occurring bodily substance, a sugar molecule. The function of this molecule is to bind water and act as a lubricant and shock absorbers in the parts of your body that are movable, as well as transporting nutrients and regulating your skin’s water balance. Dermal fillers revitalise and add volume to the treated area instantly by boosting this naturally occurring substance.
Optimising your results
Let’s work together to see the changes you deserve.Â
It is important to follow your doctor and nurse injectors pre and post preparation advice to get the best results out of your treatment. At your consultation, advise your injector if you are taking blood thinning medications. Immediately post-treatment, apply ice frequently (5-10 minutes every half hour) for up to 6 hours. LED Light Therapy may be used to help reduce any swelling or bruising.

Lip filler FAQs
I know I want my lips done, do I need a consultation?
Yes. As lip fillers require a doctor’s assessment and prescription, all clients are required to undertake a consultation. During this consultation, your injector will work with you and the doctor to discuss the best course for treatment and set expectations.
Do lip fillers hurt?
This will really depend on the individual. The injections themselves feel like a slight pinch, and you may experience slight pressure or a ‘stinging’ sensation as the product is being injected.
Although the needle used is very small, slight bruising and bleeding can occur at the site of the injections. You can choose to have your lips numbed with a topical numbing cream and this is recommended for your first time.
When can I expect to see results?
You will see the results of your treatment almost immediately, however, it is very important to understand that your lips will be swollen. The degree of swelling is variable from person to person. You can’t predict how much swelling you will get until you have had them injected, so it is recommended not to have lip filler done if you have an important event a few days post treatment.
Can lip filler be removed?
It is possible to erase the dermal filler using an enzyme to dissolve the product, although it is extremely rare for us to need to do so. The reversal treatment comes with its own risks and should be discussed thoroughly with your doctor and treating nurse injector.
Should I massage my lips post treatment?
Your injector will advise you on how to massage your lips and how often to massage. Sometimes you may be asked not to massage them at all. It is extremely important to follow your injectors recommendations. If you are unsure when you get home, phone your treating clinic to get clarification.
